Last project steps: the Results in Romania

Experiment – Curricula approaching on-line by teachers and students

In month of June, The Railways High School of Iasi , like partner in the project Comenius 2.1 with title “Insula Europae”, finalized the experiment to approach the curricula. The experimental phase had like objectives, the developments of courses on-line  with students, in eleven institutions from all the country. The students and teachers team was implying in final evaluation of the project by using the some interview questionnaire .

PARTNERS: Grup Scolar Tehnic de Transporturi CF Iasi (RO),       Seu Servizio Europa (IT), Center for Educational Initiatives Association (CEI) (BG),Science and research centre Republic of Slovenia, Intercollege Cyprus, Spanish confederation of educational Centre, E-ducation.IT SpA, SSIS Veneto Inter-University school of specialization for the training of secondary teachers (IT).
The project was structured on three phases : realizing a guide and didactical programmes to be used  used for implementing and experimenting a common teaching strategy based on E-learning courses ;Curricula was realized on three directions:

- European culture and literature
- European civic education
- History of European integration   

         The second phase focuses on the production and experimentation of teachers on-line training courses and the last part has been concentrated on the curricula experiment in 11 schools from all the country. This state included Internet Platform, Web pages and and the production of training materials to be used on-line.
Curricula realized in transdisciplinaire way approaching different themes from European culture and literature, European civic education, History of European integration.
As a result of the curricula audio-video structure on three levels of approaching it has been an advantage to be involved the students with disabilities which appreciated very well the new teaching strategy based on the courses on-line with animations and sonorousness.
The steps which be followed for this experiment with teachers and students were :

  • Training for trainers -   Seminars for teachers:
    • E-tools in education (E-learning methods used, expected results, the forum, on line questionnaires, etc.)
    • The guide lines to approach the curricula for the subjects presented
  • Training for classescourses  on line with students, in approaching by choice one of the curriculum (European culture and literature, European civic education, History of European integration.)

  • The forum accessing  by students -Forum 1-Insula Europae  with discussions about curricula experiment and Forum 2 “School belle room” with free discussions
  • Students and teachers interviews  (for monitoring and evaluation the experiment of the project the students and teachers team had eight hours of interview ; they gave some answers in the questionnaires about the structure of the curricula, the didactical methods used , the contains, the levels approaching, suggestions, ideas..

The experiment took place in nine schools institutions, which provided the feet back at the end of the project. We remind here the special involve of the schools : Scoala Generala “ Stefan Barsanescu” Iasi, Colegiul Militar "Stefan cel Mare" Cimpulung Moldovenesc -Suceava, Grup Scolar “Gheorghe Duca”- Constanta , Colegiul National "Grigore Moisil"- Onesti, Bacau, Grup Scolar Nicolina, Iasi, Grup Scolar "Ioan C.Stefanescu" – Iasi, Scoala generala Horlesti, comuna Rediu- Iasi, Colegiul Tehnic “ Gheorghe Asachi” Iasi.
Even the experiment was without Socrates grant, the teachers and the students developed many activities in extracurricular hours, made pertinent appreciations about the structure of the curricula and didactical methodologies used.

With this experiment we participated in a contest “ Made for Europe” and we’ve got first prize at Iasi county level and third prize at national level.
So, the E-learning move the action of training from the traditional classrom in own environment. It means, that you can learn every were , anytime , no important the geographic location, or the impediments of a charge agenda.
Let’s look at the future with trust and let’s try to make it more efficient and close to our necesities.
