The global objectives of the project are:

The realisation of curricula and didactic
programmes including "European" aspects already present
in the subjects on school curricula. These aspects introduce
innovative interdisciplinary practices and are aimed towards
the real testing of this European dimension in school and society;

The training of teachers, educators and
trainers and the testing in secondary schools of study plans
(curricula) identified in order to enlarge the European dimension
in teaching also by the production of materials and ad hoc tools;

The diffusion of the use and knowledge of
the information society through the testing of e-learning systems
in humanistic studies.
Specific objectives
The project consists of three distinct plans, which are organically
connected to attain specific objectives:

The research relating to the "forms"
in which the rights of a "European citizen" of society
and school can manifest themselves. At the beginning, this phase
has a preparatory function, but it will also be developed together
with the whole project and parallels other activities, with
the explicit intent of comparing different sectors of school,
university and civil society, looking for and highlighting areas
where the idea of citizenship and integration can be put into
practice from now on. Alongside this, the project aims to prepare
the platform for long distance learning and a permanent website
on the theme of "citizenship and European integration".
Output: A common model and didactic methodology; website; e-learning
platform.

The research of strategies directed to introduce
a "civic" European dimension into teaching. The project
proposes to intervene in the school system in two ways: preparing
didactic methodology to strengthen the European dimension of
teaching the subjects that lend themselves most to the idea
of "sovranationality of education"; supporting the
school with the introduction of specific practices to teach
the sovranationality, interculturality, real democracy intended
as a recourse for dialogue, respectful of laws, with clear behaviour.
Output : curricula and didactic programmes; material for online
teacher training.

On-line teacher training and the collaboration
between institutes in the different countries. This phase represents
the real objective of the project. Through this phase, the strategies
most suited to introduce the idea of "citizenship"
and European "civic education" are to be diffused
throughout the institutes involved in the project. This phase
will be implemented through the "modulo exempla" trial
effected separately by each partner at a national level in the
schools taking part in the project (organisations taking an
active part in the project without benefiting from the Socrates
grant).
Output: online course for teachers; online course for students
using the trial of the "modulo exempla"; final report
of the project.
